Marjorie J. McGowen CASPER - Services for Marjorie J. McGowen, 77, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Bustard Funeral Home by the Rev. James Tinzmann of First Baptist Church. Burial will be at the Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery. Mrs. McGowen died March 1, 1995, at the Life Care Center following a lengthy illness. She was born July 28, 1917, in Mason City, Neb., to William E. and Ethal May (Loy) Nicholas. During her youth, the family moved to Alliance, Neb., and then moved to Casper in 1923. She attended area schools and graduated from Natrona County High School in 1935. She then began employment at Provident Federal Savings and Loan and retired in 1979 as vice president. On Oct 20, 1940, she married Delmar McGowen in Casper. Mrs. McGowen was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Thrifty Ann's Extension Club and Miniature Doll House Club. Her hobby was building miniature doll houses. Survivors include her husband; four sisters, Eunice Benton, Midge Oberg and Eileen Baird, all of Casper and Irma White of Pavillion; her brother, Stephen Nicholas of Casper; and numerous nieces and nephews. |
