Sarah Louisa Hunt, daughter of John Nicholas and Ida Irene Schunaneman Thomas, was born November 11, 1903, in Moberly, Missouri. She departed this life September 10, 1992, in the Breech Medical Center in Lebanon, Missouri at the age of eighty-eight years, nine months, and twenty-nine days. On December 23, 1930, she was united in marriage to William Warner Hunt. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Warner, on June 19, 1961; one infant son; three brothers; and one sister. Sarah is survived by four daughters, Ruth Anderson and Ruby Sinclair, both of Lebanon, Missouri, Ellen Anderson, of Nevada, Iowa, and Pauline Albertson, of Wheeling, Missouri; one sister, Martha Bradshaw, of Lebanon; thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born in Moberly and then as a teenager moved with her family to their farm near the Prosperine community. After she and Warner were married they made their home in Lebanon, where they lovingly raised their family. Sarah professed her faith in Christ and was a member of the Mountain Creek Baptist Church until 1952 when she and Warner became members of the Second Baptist Church. She took an active part in her church and attended the Ladies Adult III Sunday School Class and sang in the Senior Adult Choir. She also greatly enjoyed the Second Milers group. She was a devoted homemaker and liked to do crocheting and tatting. She also enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles. Sarah was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister and was a caring neighbor and friend. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her family and all those who knew and loved her. Services for Sarah Louisa Hunt were held Saturday, September 12, 1992, at Holman Chapel, with Rev. Lee J. Elam officiating. Music was by Ruth and Ellen Anderson, vocalists, and Gerry Hoke, organist. Selections were "Precous Memories," "Precious Lord, Take My Hand," and "Was That Somebody You?" Burial was in the Hufft Cemetery in Eldridge, Missouri under the direction of Holman Funeral Homes of Lebanon.
